Professor Jens Kaden, M.D., studied Medicine in Heidelberg, Mannheim and New Orleans. He spent his residency in Internal Medicine and the Fellowship in Cardiology at Mannheim University Hospital. As a consulting cardiologist, he worked at the University Hospital's cardiac catheterization lab and was responsible for the cardiology outpatient clinic. In 2008, he was appointed as Associated Professor of Medicine the University of Heidelberg. As a director of the Faculty's Study Hospital Prof. Kaden actively participates in the education of medical students. His particular concern is the communication between doctor and patient.
Professor Kaden served as the Chairman of the Working Group on Aortic Diseases within the German Society of Cardiology and as a Nucleus member of the Working Group on Heart Valve Disease within the European Society of Cardiology. He is the author of a numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications and is a sought-after speaker at national and international conferences.
